2FA Authentication for Online Accounts

Hi, I am new to Simplisafe and I was disappointed to learn there is no 2FA option available for my online account security. I have a strong password, but I would feel much more secure if there was some sort of 2FA option available.

Preferably not just mobile/SMS codes (which aren't very secure), but also the option for a code generating app like Duo or Google Authenticator.

I feel that especially for a security company like Simplisafe, where people hacking into your account could give them access to security cam footage from inside your home, this should be fixed.

Does anyone else agree?

@coltmaster1 - you got me with that point!  I got a case of target lock with the comments about the bad guys hacking an account to disable the system to break in AND face planted at the bottom of the cliff!

We need 2FA to help prevent things like this from happening...

@keropi , there was a  CNET review on encryption and security of systems about two days ago, and in it, Simplisafe reported they are indeed working on 2FA.  Lee, Johnny M, care to chime in?

Thanks, Captain11.  That's good.  But I'll just point out that this thread was started about 8 months ago, and it probably wasn't the first thread.

@keropi, your point is well taken and true, however, I remain a very loyal, happy SS customer of 7+ years, which is easy to do after being with ADT for longer than that.  Amazing how bad ADT was/is and how great SS is. Not perfect by any stretch of the imagination, but much much better.

If SS is as dedicated to 2FA as they are a search function, CRC, fixing multiple issues with their cameras and doorbells, and actually brings back a *safe* and *reliable* CO detector, then we're all in trouble.  Captain, they've made comments like that before,..."it's in development" seems to be the answer to everything, for months, for years...

@coltmaster1, yes to us, but not to CNET. :-)  I believe its coming.  Now as far as the CRC.........
