Use motion detectors in armedxhome mode
Can the system be configured so that selected motion detectors are armed when home mode arming is selected, and all motion detectors are armed when away mode arming is selected?

Yep. For the Entry, Motion, and Glassbreak Sensors, you can choose how each sensor behaves. So for example, you can choose one Motion Sensor to be armed in both Home and Away modes, while the rest are active only in Away Mode.
Though by default, Motion Sensors are disabled during Home Mode.
If you already have your system, you can find the setting in the Devices section of the Keypad Menu, as well as on the SimpliSafe app.
