Freeze sensor says alarm but temp normal

Been using SS for about 6 years now, just did the move from V2 to V3. My new freeze sensor always says it is in an alarrn state. It seems to be reading the correct temperature. Every time I go into the app I see a big red temp alarm displayed. It doesn't trigger a monitored alert or siren. Any ideas?

@ dsmmrm try removing and adding back the sensor. if no good, then try taking the battery out of the sensor and putting it back in. If no luck, call SS for a new sensor.

It's a known issue - 4 or so others have reported it, SS apparently hasn't fixed it yet.  Do call SS, the more reports, maybe they'll take it seriously enough to fix! (one rep did say, however, that the sensor is still working correctly, despite the alarm state).

Captain11, I did exactly those things, in that order, before posting, with the exception of calling SS.

Coltmaster, if it's working anyway I won't sweat if. I have it in the room my dogs get put in during the day when we are at work to make sure they are comfortable. If I were protecting water pipes or something I would be a bit more concerned. As long as I can check the temp from time to time while I'm at work on those really hot or really cold days it's all good.

Please do a real-world check on it when you're home (compare the room temp to other ambient temp in the home), and frequently, so that you are certain it is actually working properly.  Just want to add that because despite if a rep says something, the fix is rarely ever announced, so for some things, we really don't know if things are working as intended or if they still require a fix.  SS needs to get their act together and start engaging with their customers instead of ignoring them.

Yes, I have verified that the temp sensor is reasonably accurate and consistent. I supposed I could toss it in the freezer to see if it will generate an actual alarm. Not all that critical if I can get the temp.

I've been on this ride for six years now and am familiar with the simplisafe habit of answering these kinds of issues with deathly silence.

As has been posted many times before, make your decision on what it does now, not what you hope it will do in the future.
