Replaced siren batteries, deleted from device list, and cannot reconnect

Hello. Our SimpliSafe base told us that the batteries in our siren were low, so I replaced them. The system did not recognize they had been replaced, so I read online that one solution is to delete the siren from the device list and then add it back. I deleted the siren but have been unable to add it back. After following the add-a-device prompts on the keypad, I have pushed the button on the top of the siren as the keypad/base appeared to be searching. However, after some time, the keypad indicates it is unable to find the device. Is there anything else that I can try to add the siren back to the system?

Hi @ws_rva_24,

How far away is the Extra Siren from your Base Station and Keypad? There could be some interference between the devices which is hindering the setup process, so I would recommend bringing the siren next to the Base Station and Keypad and attempt to setup the device again.

It may also help to use the SimpliSafe mobile app to install your siren. This can be done by navigating to the three-bar menu icon in the upper left corner > Add Device or Camera > follow the on-screen instructions.

But if moving the siren closer to the Base Station, or using the mobile app, doesn't help to get this siren back on your system, I would recommend contacting our Support team for additional assistance as Captain11 mentioned.

@ws_rva_24 I am guessing (key word there) from your post you have a SS2 system.  The design of it with the aux siren was always a bit wonky and, truth be told, a horrible design at that. If I am correct on my guess, suggest you call SS support, ask them to troubleshoot but also ask what can they do for you if you upgrade to SS3.

Please post your outcome here if you get a chance.

Thank you both for your suggestions. We were able to add the siren and a glass break sensor back to the system by bringing the keypad and both devices near the base and using the app. Fortunately, no need to call customer service.
