Fitting extra siren outside

Hi guys, I'm new here but I have googled the forum to see if my question had already been asked/answered but didn't spot it. Sorry if I missed it.

I've just ordered my system and an extra siren and I've since seen that it is not completely weather resistant etc, etc.

My plan is to mount it on an external wall in a dummy alarm box to a) protect it and b) show that the property is alarmed. I'd also like to replace the batteries with a power lead to indoors so I don't have to go up and down ladders to change batteries.

Has anyone else done this with any success?

Thanks and stay safe!

@jaffs49 I know of 5 customers personally who have mounted the aux siren outside, two in boxes as you described and three under the roof overhang (not in direct elements.  All are fine. Note that the batteries will have to be changed more often outside but the siren in all instances perform as expected. This has come up before in the forum so I do wonder why it didn't come up in your search.  Congrats on  your new SS3 system and best of luck with it.

Thank you Captain11.

I did spot that people were toying with the idea of box mounting but just wondered if anyone had actually used a dummy alarm box. I do want to bypass or remove the batteries and power direct from an adapter as there is often a battery operated flashing LED in some of these dummy cases in an attempt to make it look non-dummy..I can them power the led and siren via a power supply from within the roofspace.
