What has changed on the Outdoor Camera firmware since release?

At some point my outdoor camera got new firmware and the night time video quality appears to be much better all of a sudden, with and without my porch light off. I can't tell if something was changed on the cameras or if the additional light from a nearby streetlight (now that less leaves are in the way of it) is the reason for the change.
