Changing a front entry door with a SmartLock - any dos and don’t see?

Unless you're replacing the entire deadbolt and installing a new one, you shouldn't need to do so much dismantling! The front keyhole and all the internal mechanisms should stay in place (we supply a removable tape along with the kit to hold the front piece down). The only thing you're really doing is taking off the inside piece where the thumbturn is, and replacing that with the Smart Lock.
