Timestamp on Video Recordings
I am in a "dispute" with my municipality about who put trash on the curb in front of my building. I have camera videos with the trash on the curb on the date I moved in. I can download the videos to my phone and share them with the municipal government. The problem is that the videos do not contain the date and time so they have to take my word for it as to when they were recorded. Is there any way to add the date and time to the video files themselves to make things simpler?

@luke to answer the question, no, there is currently no timestamp feature. And the correct date isn't even written in the metadata. I moved your thread to our Suggestions section for visibility, because I think it's a great idea.

This would be spectacular.

This would also help during live viewing. If the current date and time (with second counter) was displayed I could tell when the camera connection froze and needed to be refreshed.
We use some of the indoor cameras to keep an eye on the kids but the live feed tends to freeze and sometimes it is hard to tell if I have the volume down and they are still as statues because they are watching tv 😝

It would be not a suggested but required feature. Its a security camera and currently it can't be used for evidential purposes which defeats the purpose.

?Where is the date and time stamp on video clips? Clearly SimpliSafe was able to put their name on the video clips, Please remove the SimpliSafe company logo (I know who made the camera- I do not need to be reminded of that on the video clips) and was that more important then a date and time stamp in its place?

if Zmodo cameras can do this feature, why can’t SimpliSafe?

This issue of putting date and time stamp on recorded and live video is a NO BRAINER, this request is approaching a year (probably longer than I’m aware) what is the hold up SimpliSafe? My only answer is SimpliSafe is not interested in implementing this. PERIOD

I have SEVEN (7) cameras. Not having the date and time stamp on the video clips absolutely terrible. It’s the first thing police and courts look for when reviewing documentation of a crime. My car was stolen last week. It sure would’ve been helpful to have the date and time on the videos. It’s a very basic feature offered by most every other company. And now that I’ve been the victim of a crime, I’m thinking of turning to one of those other companies who offer the date and time stamp on clips.

OMG I just signed up for this service and have spent a lot of money. And the videos don't have date and time?

I am here to add my voice in requesting this product. Time stamps are an standard in security cameras, and I believe it to be incredibly important to add this feature as soon as possible.

+1 for a customer that would like timestamped videos. I’m currently using footage as evidence of a theft and the lack of a time stamp is troublesome.
Notw: I was able to screenshot the video with the timeline date in the background while using my desktop machine, but a time stamped video would be much much better.

Hi - like other users have already mentioned, not having time stamps printed on the video is concerning for security video footage. Please add this feature as a priority. Thank you!
