Outdoor Camera only notify when Armed
Is there a way to set an outdoor camera to only notify when the system is armed (away & home)? I use my back porch a lot in the summer and don't want the outdoor camera recording and notifying me every time someone gets up from their chair to go inside or refill a drink glass. Thanks so much for any help!!

Absolutely. This is pretty much my only disappointment/ complaint about SimpliSafe. Seems like a no-brainer to me.
After reading all the replies and comments underneath with no replies and responses from SimpliSafe or the admins, I'm curious if this forum is even monitored?

Just got the outdoor cameras - they seem fine...but they are useless to me if they cannot be turned on/off depending on the alarm state. Who wants to be recorded all the time? Wasted $500.

Is Simplisafe doing anything about the issue of the outdoor cameras sending alerts with the system is disarmed? Indoor cameras have the option to not alert or record when the system is disarmed. A feature that apparently based on the posts is a feature that a lot of us with outdoor cameras are asking for.
So is SimpliSafe working on, considering or even investigating the option? A lot of us users want to know the answer to that question. SimpliSafe please respond.

Please, please, please, and multiple delete function!!! The lack of this function and lack of bulk deleted is insane, should be an easy software fix for both issues. Seem everyone wants both of these options to functional!!

Also looking for this feature, stuck with simplisafe for the monitoring service but if notifications for outdoor cameras can’t be resolved I may have to switch alarm systems entirely. Need this fix ASAP please!

Thought us was just me that couldn't figure out how to set the outdoor cameras for this function. I see that is not me. Can't believe simplysafe was in such a hurry to put out an outdoor camera that they didn't see this function? Don't need a camera sending me alerts with me home doing yardwork all day. That's just simply bad product.

We literally just installed our cameras just to find this out. Absolutely ridiculous you can't turn it off when it's not armed!! Is this a joke SimpliSafe?! We use our porch daily and have dogs that go in and out constantly - I don't need me and my husband getting alerted every time anyone moves out there! It's going to kill the camera battery AND my phone battery from all the damn notifications. Please tell us a fix is in the works!

No there is not a function for this although many people are asking for this and bulk delete of videos! Come on SimpliSafe get with your customers request for vital functions and come up with a FIX!!!!!

It seems to me and I believe others that all our pleas and requests are falling on blind eyes and or deaf ears! No one at SimpliSafe has had the courtesy to even respond to any of these post. Are we just wasting our time and money for this product and monthly monitoring service????
Is anyone or anything being done to rectify these obvious problems???

SimpliSafe,
for the love of god PLEASE give your customers an option to only record when the system in armed, not all the time… I have to charge my backyard pool cameras weekly. SUPER ANNOYING…
