10 loud beeps every time we set or disarm the system

We have orig. system, just recently installed.  Not hooked to SimpliSafe yet.  Trial period was fine, til someone in family disarmed unit at base and now we consistently get 10 loud beeps every time we arm or disarm the unit, from keypad or keychain device.  Any advice?

That is the warning that the batteries need to be changed.  Just unscrew the back and replace the 4 AA batteries.

Thank you so much, I'll try that!

Is this from the 105db siren?

Barbara, sometimes the beeps are between 6-10 or so, it's not always consistent - but kosterhoudt is correct, whenever you hear a series of beeps, it's time to change the batteries.  Also know that if you use the siren as a chirp to hear doors/windows opening, the batteries will run down a bit sooner than usual - on average, the siren's batteries last between 4-8 months, depending on use, always keep some on hand :)

I changed the batteries, but the unit still gives 10 beeps when tamed or disarmed :-(  Any further advice?

If you have a battery tester (tests under load, not a voltmeter), make sure the batteries are good.  Check the terminals for corrosion.  Once I put in a battery, I tend to rotate it to make sure it is fully seated and scrape away any minor impediments to current flow.

If your batteries are good and there is no corrosion, then there may be something wrong with the siren.  Call SS for help debugging and replacement if appropriate.

I've checked the batteries, they're brand new and fine Duracells.  The terminals are clear etc. etc.  The beeping happens when you set or disarm the alarm from the keypad unit or the keyfobs.  It hasn't happened til recently when a family member turned off the alarm at the keypad. ( I can't be sure if they made some kind of mistake and caused this beeping to occur ) I'm not sure that's even possible.

I guess I'll have to call SS as you recommended.  Thanks for the response!

If it's SS2, you might have to "re-sync" it if you replaced the batteries -  Tip: when replacing batteries, the siren may hold it's sync for a short time IF you only replace one at a time over the course of a few seconds as opposed to taking them all out at once and then replacing.  If you take them all out at once and then replace them, you'll have to re-sync it:

• RE-SYNCING THE SIREN:
In order to program your siren into your system, stand between the base station and the keypad with your siren and keychain remote. Hold down the black programming button on the back of the siren and press the "off" button on the keychain remote repeatedly until you here a beep. This is an indication that your siren is now synced!
• If you do not hear the tone, you can try a different way: stand next to your keypad with the siren and hold down the black programming button. While holding it down, enter your PIN on the keypad 4 or 5 times until you hear the tone.
• You can test the siren by pressing the Panic button on either your keypad or keychain remote. To turn it off (the siren alarm), either enter your PIN, or press the Off button on the keychain. Have your phone and safe word handy in case monitoring calls.

Thank you so much for all the time you took with your response.  However, I have the original SimpliSafe, purchased just before the new system came out.  Ours doesn't work on WiFi, though now I wish it did because our cell signal is dismal.  We're not hooked up to SimpliSafe monitoring yet, I don't think it will work due to the poor cell signal.  There does seem to be slots for a regular land line phone connection in the base unit, I'll have to find out if that's possible.

Thanks again for your kind response. :-)

I was worried that my poor cell signal wouldn't work,  I have Verizon, but they sent me a base station with T-Mobile and it always connect.   You can check your coverage map and see if a change in the base station cell card works.

Cool.
Was looking for someone to answer another post about the siren not activating.
Thanks for the resync.

Finally got this resolved!  With help from you all & Simplisafe email response, I realize now that you all were talking about replacing the SIREN batteries, and being a novice, silly me thought you meant the keypad batteries!  So, now the issue is fixed, the siren is much louder now too.

Also, SimpliSafe said that my unit can be hooked up to our land line since we have such terrible cell signal .... now we'll be able to get the monitoring service..  Thank you all :-)
