SimpliSafe Wifi Lost

Before we begin, let me confirm that the Base Station is connected to a 2.4GHZ network and is located less than 24 inches from the router. The home’s mesh wifi system has 3 routers and the connection to the ISP is currently 2.1 Gbps. The firmware is current, version 2.17.0.34.

Problem: Wifi Signal is lost AT LEAST three times per hour, every hour of the day. I’ve moved the Base Station, renamed, and recreated 2.4ghz networks to no avail. This seems like a security risk.

Solution: Create an Ethernet Base station that can plug directly into a router with a 4G/5G cellular backup.

Until then, what can I do?

Hi @SimpliFrustratedUser,

I know you said that your Base Station is within 2 feet of your router, but what happens if you move it a little bit further away? I would recommend moving it about 5-10 feet from the router to see if that helps its stability.

And after adjusting the placement of the Base Station, it can help to try a longer version of a Base Station reset to help it find your network:

  1. Unplug the power cord from the Base Station again and remove all four batteries from the battery compartment
  2. Wait three minutes with Base Station fully powered off
  3. Plug the power cord back into the Base Station without inserting the battery or replacing the cover
  4. Attempt to connect the Base Station to WiFi using the Keypad
  5. Once the Base Station is connected to WiFi, reassemble the Base Station. Insert the batteries first, remove the power cord to place the cover on the Base Station. Then plug the Base Station cord back in

But if the above tips do not help, the next step would be to reach out to our Support team so they can take a deeper look into your account.

Thank you.

It does have a 4g 5g cell back up built in, the base does not have to have wifi only when you need to download firmware updates to the base will you need the base to have wifi
