Deleting a location

I need to delete a location from my account.  There was a fire at the location and the Simplisafe devices were destroyed.  I no longer have any association with this address.  How do I delete it from my account?

@lamendola​ Generally we do not delete locations as there is information attached to each location (like historic payment records). However, you can hide locations from your view. You can do this by taking the following steps:

  1. You'll need to log into the webapp through a browser (this cannot be done through the mobile app).
  2. Navigate to Menu > Manage Account.
  3. Under Protected location, select the checkbox next to each property that you wish to hide.

There is no checkbox next to each property, I have 2 locations and want to delete 1, there is no checkbox to select in protected locations

@ronmel1986​ If you don't see the option to select a location to hide, our Support team can always help you hide that location on their end.

This is dumb. Why can't we just delete our old addresses ourselves?

@ppisanchyn​ You can hide a location yourself using the web app, but it cannot be completely deleted because it represents a whole account and contains all of the records associated with it.

This is ridiculous. I called SimpliSafe and explained we sold our second house and no longer need monitoring. I removed all the sensors and tower, keypad, etc. but I can't remove the location from my phone or account. Under "Manage Account" next to location there is a column to hide but it just has a line and nothing happens. 

Been happy with SimpliSafe for years. Until now.

Been with SimpliSafe for over a decade. Equipment is generally reliable and monitoring works as advertised. But, they have for over a decade been a short on commonsense IT and not good listeners.

I am having the same problem..cannot "hide" or delete a location as they claim. Was a good security system company when they started but has declined significantly over past few years.

Hey @walter! You would need to ensure that the location has 0 plan associated with it, meaning it's "canceled" and not just on a free plan. Once it's completely cancelled, it can be removed from the account. An account specialist will be able to handle both of those things with no problem.
