Loud beeps in the middle of the night

Just now around 4am my base station went off in loud high pitched noises that didn’t sound like the regular alarm. Of course my wife was frantic and I took the shotgun around the house to inspect all the doors. Any clue what this was? The sound lasted around a minute probably.

Hi @jmtrimble ,

If there had been an alarm event from your system, you'd see it in the Timeline event log on your online account.

Do you see anything in your log that might be that?

It could also come from a different device - like if you had a Smoke or Carbon Monoxide alarm. Though if you had SimpliSafe Smoke or CO Detectors, you'd see events on your Timeline for those alarms too.

That’s the strange thing. There was no event log. Any other explanation? Being woken up at 4am with an alarm makes it pretty difficult to get back to sleep so I’d like to prevent it from happening again.

@Legallyheidi It appears that you may be hearing the Trouble Signal. This is a warning sound from the Base Station to alert you of potential issues with your system. To stop the beeping, you will need to resolve whatever the problem may be. A good place to look is the notification area on the Keypad. If there are any issues with your system, you will see the <!> icon and it will let you know what the issues are.

the same thing is happening to me. Mine goes off at 12am every night for only one minute. It beeps slowly then fast then stops. It is coming from the simplisafe system.

@rtmailoffice are you hearing a sound similar to this user here?

If so, that would be the Trouble Signal, which warns of critical issues with your system. You can learn about it here.

The original poster, however, might be talking about something different, since their post was on 08/25/22, and Base Station Firmware 2.10 (which includes the Trouble Signal) was released in January of 2023!

No. It’s four distinct loud beeps. I cannot recreate it.

This is happening to us too. It wakes me up in a panic, i know it is coming from our first floor but cannot tell where. I had my husband buy additional carbon monoxide detectors yesterday because we thought it could be that.
Last night it was 4 beeps at 1:30 then 1 beep probably around 3:15 right when I had fallen back asleep. The base station has also been stuttering when we turn the simply safe on. It typically says “simply safe on, home” and it’s only been getting part of the way through that.
There are no events recorded in the app timeline.

@Nwarm It sounds like there's a couple of things going on with your system.

First, you might also be hearing the Trouble Signal, which is a general warning tone for potentially critical issues with your system. You can read more about it here. To resolve and dismiss the warning, you'll need to address whatever the error is (for example, if a sensor is having trouble communicating, you'll have to troubleshoot to get it back online). Check the Keypad screen's notification area <!> to see what errors are currently showing on your system.

Second, you're also seeing a known issue with the Base Station that our engineering team is working on resolving. You can read more about the issue and the temporary fix here.
