Keypad Near TV

I installed a keypad like 6 inches to left of my TV in my bedroom.

Funny thing is that the darn keypad keeps lighting up and dims and the turns off while the tv is on. Repeatedly all night until TV is turned off and batteries will be drained within 4 days! Yikes!

But if I turn off my TV, then the keypad will stop.

Is there like a frequency interference of some sort?

What can I do beside moving the keypad to a different location?

Please advise.

Thanks

The television is waking up the Keypad. You will most likely have to move it.

So is it be sound? or lights from TV?

Will it damage the keypad if it keeps lighting and turning off? I was thinking about attaching a 6v DC power supply to the keypad and just leave it next to the Tv.

thoughts?

Thanks

It is the light from your TV (a new feature in the SS3 Keypad. With the previous systems, the Keypads did not have backlighting, and you had to push buttons to see messages or the system's status).

The waking will not damage the Keypad, but you will eat through batteries far more quickly.

Attaching a power supply is something others' expertise would fair far better than mine. They should be able to answer that question.

You could try setting the keypad to "power saving" mode to see if that keeps it from turning on from the TV

Got multiple keypads? Switch them around. This worked for me. Some keypads are more sensitive than others.
