Base Station Light option?

Why is there no option to turn off the base station light in Away mode? If burglars break in and hear the countdown, all they have to do is quickly look for a base station and trash it. As it is, the base station is lit up like a Christmas tree. I like the light when I'm at home so I know if the system is active or not. It shouldn't, however, be on in Away mode.

When a door is opened or any switch is set off, I believe the light goes off automatically.

You can turn it off in the settings. If you have the 24.99 interactive plan and have the app you can easily do it from the app.

I know I can turn it on/off manually (I have interactive monitoring), but I shouldn't have to. I want the light on whenever I'm "Home". I want it off whenever I'm "Away". And I don't want to have to keep manually changing it. I don't have to manually turn each sensor on/off... they're configured based on Off/Home/Away modes. Why should I have to manually turn the light on/off each time? This is an easy software change.

It wouldn't be so bad if the light was subtle... but it's really bright and draws attention to itself.

The only way is to do it manually but it really doesn't bother me as when ours ison away mode all blinds are closed anyway so know one can see the light, as for home mode again our blinds are closed at night so no one can see it plus we like the it as it is like a night light. But you will have to manually do it everytime unfortunately.

Have cardboard cylinder which you can raise when you are home and lower before you leave.  Or block the part of the light you don't want and leave the part you do clear.

I turned mine off years ago and my station is hidden from view by the time they searched for it.... too late!

I leave my base station on the front porch.  It's helping my research on criminal intelligence.  Turns out gofers are pretty high on the brain scale as I found my base station half buried in the front lawn the other day.

all they need do is follow the sound... best keep the base at some far point from common entry points....

if you have motion sensors for the away mode, once that is triggered or any other sensor other than a door entry sensor, the alarm will go off instantly.

@thomaszYes, if you have Instant Trigger enabled an alarm will sound once a sensor is tripped. This setting can be enabled on any of your Motion, Entry, or Glassbreak Sensors. You can do this in the SimpliSafe mobile app by going to My System > Device Settings > select [your sensor] > toggle Instant Trigger on
