Screw Size For Outdoor Camera Mount?

This doesn't mention the camera specifically and I do not have a SS3 system with camera mount to compare, but might be a starting point.

There is a threaded hole on the bottom of the Outdoor Camera. I'm sure someone at SS can tell me the specs on those threads. :)

Ah yes, good spotting! That's actually a head mount (I believe that would be a 1/4-20 screw?), compatible with most camera tripods and similar accessories.

Just want to ask, why would someone need the "permanent mount"?  The standard magnetic mount that comes with the camera seems pretty substational in holding power as is, and infact, has withstood a large thunderstorm that rolled through with wind gusts of 40-50 mph.

It's really just another option. Some folks like the idea of the camera being harder to grab, especially if they can't install it high enough to be out of reach.

@Captain11  Actually, after speaking with someone working in law enforcement, having a camera lower is more likely to get a view of a person's face.  A thief can wear a hat to block their face from high mounted cameras and it wouldn't look out of place if they are walking down the street.  They know not to look up, so having one mounted lower might be a good idea.  Just keep it hidden.
