Indoor Camera settings reversed? Open is Closed and Closed is Open

Setting my indoor cameras to either close or open the shutter for Home, Away and Off modes.  In order for them to work correctly, I have to have the camera set to Open in Off mode to keep the privacy shutter closed.  And in Away mode I have to have it set to Closed to open the shutter and record motion?  This seems backwards and I tried the solutions found in support like setting things correct and back again and unplugging camera and plugging back in. Then tried resetting the camera to factory and re-installing - same results. Open setting results in a Closed privacy shutter!
