How to download past recordings

@rrr​ SimpliSafe has never disclosed user video to law enforcement without the consent of our customers or when legally required to do so in connection with a search warrant. Consumer privacy is a core value at SimpliSafe, and therefore, as a matter of practice, we do not share this data with law enforcement unless required to do so by law.

@emily_s I am in sort of a similar situation - there is a possibility that that I may need to show an old video in court that has since been automatically deleted since it is >30 days old but it is from just a few months ago. If I request that specific video, is it recoverable in that instance and can be provided to me? Thanks!

@BDB​ Recordings are removed from your timeline after 30 days, but I have gone ahead and forwarded your case to our specialist team for further assistance. We'll see what we can do regarding this recording.

@emily_s​ we are similarly being requested for evidence in a legal proceeding and require a recording from 11/4/23.  This request was only put to us after the 30 days or we would have already downloaded the recording! Would you be able to assist and forward our case or point us in the right direction? Thank you in advance!

@emily_s​ could you do the same for me regarding a video of when I got shot on Oct 23rd 2025? It's between 11:29 pm then skips to 11:37 pm after I was shot. I'm just returning home from the trauma unit and it's literally gone. Please please please help me.

@mrtysims unfortunately, there is not a setting that allows for downloading camera recordings in bulk. They must be downloaded one at a time.

Hey @jmm19811 , thanks for your question. At cancellation, we now delete all the cameras associated with a subscription, meaning the camera recordings are also gone. It is recommended to download all videos to a local drive before making any account changes.
