Doorbell Pro Low Battery

I found where there was a similar post last year, but no resolution or advice was offered.  My doorbell pro will sometimes send an alert to my phone app saying battery voltage below 30%... it doesn't have a battery, right?  It is hardwired to the old doorbell.  Once I get this, it goes offline.  Eventually, after a couple of days, it comes back and works fine for a few weeks, then this error again.  This did not start happening until I installed the circuit they sent me to alleviate the weak doorbell tones, but it didn't happen for some time after that was first installed, so not sure if it is related.  Anyone have a clue?  Anyway to get it back online quickly?  Thanks.

@dwhis actually, the doorbell pro does have a battery.  Suggest you call support to troubleshoot. Please post your outcome here if you get a chance.

OK, thanks.  Makes more sense now.

Sounds like it might be a small doorbell transformer.

The doorbell transformer should have a decal or something on it that shows the VA rating. SimpliSafe has never given a formal or informal minimum VA requirement far as I know. I seem to recall Ring recommended a minimum of 20-25VA transformer previously and 30VA for the their doorbell pro. Were I to install a SS doorbell cam I'd be sure our doobell transformer was 25-30VA.

Any update on this? I installed the Defiant 16VAC/30VA Transformer "Compatible with All Video Door Bells" and I am now experiencing this low batter issue. I guess I'll call and report back here...

@spcoorlas right, it does sound like the doorbell isn't getting enough power. I would suggest checking the circuit. Our Support team at 800-548-9508 can help with a replacement Video Doorbell Pro if necessary.

I'm in the same boat. Low doorbell battery. Should have stuck with ring.

My SS doorbell gave the same 30% alert as others have reported. It came with a rechargable battery with a small USB port visible on the back of the half removed from the mounting. Tok about 6 hours to charge.

@jaspinks The Video Doorbell does have a battery, but it shouldn't need to be recharged - your wired doorbell system should constantly keep it charged. If you're seeing this warning, that means that your wired system isn't supplying enough power to the Video Doorbell. If you contact our Support team, they can send you a Chime Connector to remedy this.
