@mlrichar thanks for reaching out about this. Night Vision uses infrared. Some materials, especially when up close to the camera, might reflect more of that infrared light. So it might help to move those object, or perhaps change the angle of the camera to point away from them. We do have a horizontal wedge available as part of a kit, which you can get from our Support team.
