Door Chime not playing through the siren

I have the doorbell and it works great. I also have 2 additional sirens. I have set them to ring when the doorbell is pressed but they don't respond. They work perfectly for entry and exit beeps but no doorbell which is the main reason I bought them.  What am I doing wrong?

Hi billycarr007,

Sorry for the confusion. The "Door Chime" feature specifically refers to the chime when Entry Sensors are opened. Currently, the Wireless Sirens do not support doorbell rings.

We do still recommend keeping at least one Wireless Siren so you can hear countdowns and main alarms across your home (it's MUCH louder, at 105dB).

Do you have any plans on using a software update to enable the doorbell sound to transmit through the siren.

It would improve customer satisfaction and ... If I'm in my basement without my smart phone.   I can just add a siren and be able to hear the doorbell.

This feature would... most likely, bring in customers who want to hear the doorbell and not have to worry about an old door chime working/not working.. fiasco.

Sincerely,

MK

@mjkins14 This is a great suggestion. While we don't have any plans to implement this in the near future, I'll be sure to share this with our Video Doorbell and development teams for review.

I second this request.  This would be a VERY helpful feature for work at home people.

Why is the feature not available yet there are settings specifically for the siren?

@brslagle,

The Door Chime feature refers to the chime when Entry Sensors are opened. While the Wireless Sirens currently do not support doorbell rings, I will send this idea to our dev team.

Any updates on supporting doorbell rings through aux siren? Seems like an obvious feature and a big miss not having it. Is there a place to formally request the feature and/or track progress?

Hi @jkloptosky,

There are no updates on this yet. However, our teams do look through the Community for feedback and ideas. You commenting in this public thread will only further inform them that our customers want this feature.

Please request this feature be added as soon as possible, it should be fairly easy as the chime function already exists. I bought a second siren to allow me to hear the doorbell upstairs so was disappointed to find out it was not possible. Thank you 🙏

@stuarttmdavis we sincerely apologize. Currently, it is not possible at all for the Wireless Siren to relay Video Doorbell Pro chimes.

The best alternative would be to set up the SimpliSafe app on a smartphone. Then you can receive notifications from the Video Doorbell wherever you are.

Yes.  I've spent hours trying to figure out how to make the doorbell chime through the siren.  I didn't realize it wasn't possible until I found this thread.

I also assumed this would be a feature and was disappointed to find out it wasn’t possible. PLEASE add this to the development list!  Would love to have this feature.

I agree with everyone in this post. This seems like it would be an easy thing to do, to allow the door bell to chime through extra sirens (and while you’re at it, chime through any other simplisafe devices that output sounds)! It would make customers so happy.

Big oversight here. It’s been years and nothing. Does anyone care at SimpliSafe??

@gtsmith06 The feature request to play doorbell chimes through the Wireless Siren has been submitted to our dev team for their consideration. If/when the request is brought into development, we will update the Community.
