Camera with solid yellow light

Hello,
I recently received a camera and plugged it in for installation.  The light is a solid yellow indicating it's rebooting and updating software.  I've left it plugged in for a couple days and the light hasn't changed.  The manual says it should take a few minutes.  Can anyone give some advice?
Thanks!

Same issue as others above. Received my whole Simplisafe system today. All but the camera set up easily. Camera maintains solid yellow light after several hours. Tried holding the top button for 10 sec. and 30 sec . Unplugging, etc...no success. Will put in a call tomorrow. Wondering if it was a bad batch that had something to do with all the free camera inclusions. I'm still happy with everything else though. Saving $175/year on my homeowners insurance, plus up front and monitoring costs are significantly cheaper than the big box companies.

Same issue.

Received my box system on Saturday and the camera did not work. Simplisafe said they had to send me a replacement. Just received the new one and the same thing. They told me the new batch that they sent this week should be working, but this is not the case. Now they are trying to send a third camera to me. I asked if they could check if the camera works before shipping, but they said won't be possible to guarantee. Is there anything more Simplisafe can do besides say we will ship a new one? 0/2 so far and I am thinking this next one will also not work.

Same issue here. First camera was sent on May 31. Second was on June 11. Both are solid yellow. Can't set up.

The second one has privacy mode on I think since I can't see the lens inside the camera. I just can see a silver cover inside the camera. I suspect it's not a brand new one. Contacted the service center and sent a pic of the two cameras and waiting for calling back.

UPDATE: they sent me a third one and will see if it works.

Same issue
Ordered a camera a few weeks ago, called cs and they sent out a new one which I received today that's also not working. I'm gonna try a third time, but if this doesn't work I'm gonna just return it for a refund.

Just purchased a door bell and a camera . What a pain ! The door bell screw that holds it onto the bracket wont screw in all the way so the door bell can be removed off its bracket by anyone . . Now the cam is stuck on with a Yellow light ! I tried unplugging the cameras reset for 10 seconds and even 15 seconds on a third try and still no good . Not happy at all as these are brand new items !!! I take it no one has come up with a loution with the camera except to get another one ? Unbelievable . Sticky backs don't work , had to just about screw in ALL of the sensors and the Siren , The door bell also has connection issues and at only 2.4 gig once in a while just disappears off the network but yet every other device ( Prob 8 of them ) have no issues at all .  Simplisafe states that there are firmware issues that they know of and that the batch should have been pulled , but they are stills ending bad units out , as I just ordered mine about a week ago and shipped a few days ago .

I had the same issue.  Called and spoke to terrific lady. She ran me through cold boot and soft boot of camera.  Without having to ask, she said they be sending out a replacement camera along with a return-paid box so they can examine the bad camera.  Seems to me they have great service.

Same problem here. Pretty flaky cameras, judging by the comments here.

Cameras I've got work ok, EXCEPT they won't take a settings update.  Physically moved a camera requiring a power off, then power back up.  Signal good, can watch video.  Left the house.  Went to check vid after nightfall, and realized I had forgotten to turn night mode to auto.  (Had it off because it was looking out a window, and the  IR LED just reflected off of the glass.)

Set the mode to Auto, then hit save.

Got a message saying it will use the new settings after streaming, motion or whatever is done.  (And you can't read whole message because it is truncated on an Android screen.)

No amount of setting other parameters like privacy or resolution, motion detection etc. seems to get updated.

Have sent them an email.

No response.

It appears that the camera system falls into the "Not Ready For Prime Time Players" category.

Bought a video doorbell pro in December 2019 and just tried to install it a week ago (don't ask).
The doorbell pro LED ring goes solid yellow. It then makes a ker-thunk sound, the LED goes out and it goes back to solid yellow and repeats. Sometimes It will then start the audio msg ready for set up, go to the app. Most times it does NOT finish the msg and goes back yellow. About 3 times (out of dozens) it finished the msg to go to the app for set up and went flashing white and I tried to get it to read the QR code and connect to my WiFi but it wouldn't. I've tried resets on both buttons on the back for various durations but nothing changes. It appears to be in some sort of reboot loop. Hoping Tech Support can give us all some overall guidance about the status of a fix so we can stop fiddling around thinking we're going to get it to work on our own.
The indoor camera I also bought in December 2019 installed fine. Thx for any help.

I am having the same issue with the camera.  It just sits on solid yellow- will not update.  Left it on all night- will not update.  Tried multiple wifi networks- will not update.  It looks like I bought a brick. Very frustrating.  May have to try another security system.

Same issue! I bought two and one works perfectly fine, the other one stays solid yellow, then turns white and says it's ready for setup and once it scans the QR code it goes right back to yellow and repeats the whole process. I had to take it down because even if I don't try setting it up, it doesn't stop looping the message and it's all we hear.

I just opened some cameras today and has this same problem. I'm so annoyed. I'm going to call them tomorrow but what the heck is going on?! Especially since it seems to be a common issue!

I have the same problem. SimpliSafe twitter support said it is a know problem that they are working on, and an update would be sent out to fix the problem once they have it figured out-not sure how they will do that if the cameras can't even connect.

They also said that replacing it won't necessarily fix the problem, so I guess we are just stuck with non-functional equipment.
