Camera with solid yellow light

Hello,
I recently received a camera and plugged it in for installation.  The light is a solid yellow indicating it's rebooting and updating software.  I've left it plugged in for a couple days and the light hasn't changed.  The manual says it should take a few minutes.  Can anyone give some advice?
Thanks!

Hi all,

A solid yellow light on a SimpliCam Indoor Camera indicates that it is either in the process of a firmware update, or a reboot. Both of these should only take a few minutes to complete.

If you are seeing the yellow light for an extended period of time, we may need to replace your camera. Please give us a call at 800-548-9508!

Unplug it for a while, say five minutes, then try again is what I'd do.

Thanks, I tried that but it didn't work...

Any updates here? Been having the same issue. Plugged in for a couple days and nothing. Were you able to connect it to your wifi?

No, I haven't been able to do anything.  The light hasn't changed and has a little bit of a greenish tint to it.  I contacted Simplisafe through e-mail and got a reply just going over the steps in the manual.  I can't get past the first one because of this issue.  I tried the other steps but none of them worked, which I expected.
I replied twice to the e-mail but haven't received any further responses yet.  It could be because of Memorial Day.  I'll have to try calling as soon as I get time...

If your simplicams are stuck with a permanent yellow light even after performing a reset holding the button on top down for 30 seconds method and then unplugging and leaving for several minutes then plugging back in. Please call simplisafe and let them know so they can get them replaced for you.

I tried calling today and got nobody. After 10 minutes they phone hung up. I tried again and after another 10 minutes I got another call before Simplisafe answered. I might have to try Monday again, if I get an hour to spare during my day.

I purchased the 3 pack a few days ago and received them around 1pm today. All 3 have been plugged in since I received them and all 3 are still showing solid yellow (about 5-1/2 hours now). I have another simplicam I've had since last October and it works ok.

I have the same issue with 2 cameras I just purchased. It seems like they have a serious issue with a bad batch of cameras.

I just tried to install my new 2 cameras and have the same issue.  Ugh!!

Same problem. Received 2 cameras over the weekend and both are stuck on the solid yellow light. The base station was able to connect to my WiFi, so that's not the problem.

Good news, I just got off the phone with tech support.  They tried having me unplug and plug it back in then they had me try the reset button.  After none of that worked they said they'll send out a replacement with a package to return the defective one.  We'll have to see if the new one works, I'm a bit concerned after seeing the recent posts here.  I mentioned that others were having the same problem...

I also had the same problem with my cameras. I was sent a replacement last week which also didn't work, but Stacy, who helped with the latest call, was able to locate a camera from a new batch. She confirmed that there was a batch of defective ones.

I received that one today, and it works perfectly.

Second set of replacement cameras arrived today and those are also bad. I'm giving up. SimpliSafe needs to check their stuff first before sending more out.

I am having the same issue. Received a replacement camera and still giving me yellow solid light. I called tech support and they said it's doing an "update' and should be finished by Monday. If it's still not working come Monday, to call them back and then they'll probably replace it again

Finished by Monday?  That's laughable.  When my cameras have gotten updates, it's taken under 30 minutes.  I've been seeing a whole bunch of posts about this issue.  It seems like they are sending out defective hardware.

When I first plugged it in, it worked fine.  Now it says "Disconnected" and solid yellow/green light. I tried unplugging, etc. I guess I'll let it go and see if it updates.
