Camera makes noise

We are at least 300 miles away from home. Camera making noise when we go online to check house. Just got new system.

I have the same issue on all 10 of my cameras, any chance this is in a current sprint?

Are you seeing the same issue as folks from this thread? If so, it's a hardware issue, not a software one. Currently, a solution is IN PROGRESS. When it's ready, we'll update you on that thread.

My cameras have this issue. Squealing and screeching when the mic is on. Is there a resolution to this?

@mppolese​ Our engineers have identified the cause of this issue and pushed out a resolution. Since you are still experiencing this noise, though, I would reach out to our Support team for further assistance.

I have just talked to your support a few minutes ago, his name is James, and he had me do all kinds of procedures up to removing and reinstalling the cameras, and deleting the app and reinstalling it, power cycling the base station etc. and none of those worked. I just now saw this thread and had I known this I would have not gone thru all the procedures he had me do for over an hour. All of my cameras indoors and outdoors are making the same scratchy or white noise. He said he was going to escalate this issue to engineering, but it seems like there hasn't been any fix yet according to this thread. If it has been over 2 years now, this is really bad. I might have to consider other companies now.

I want to be able to view my house without the camera making noise when I access it from anywhere outside my home. A light comes on at night when I access the camera too. I would not have purchased this Simply Safe system if I knew this would happen. Why is this happening. Please respond with a comment. Thank you

@lyncbowles What camera do you have? If you have the SimpliCam Wired Indoor Camera or the Smart Alarm Indoor Camera, they both come with Privacy Shutters. The Privacy Shutter physically covers the lens of the camera when you do not want it to detect motion/record. 

 

Whenever the Privacy Shutter opens to record or livestream, it will make a snapping sound. This is the sound of the shutter physically opening, so that cannot be modified.

 

The light you see on your camera is its Status Light; which indicates whenever the camera is in use. You can turn this off in the SimpliSafe mobile app by going to My System > Camera Settings > select [your camera] and then toggle Status Light off.
