Timeline device aliases come and go

New system with two outdoor cameras. The device aliases will sometimes be shown on the timeline and sometimes the time will only show the device type and ID. Is there something that needs to be done to get a stable timeline with the aliases all the time?

I have a gen 3 system, two outdoor cams, doorbell cam, 3 simplicams and 30 sensors + and never ran into this one. Suggest you call support to troubleshoot, and if no solution found, ask them to escalate it and get back to you. Will appreciate it if you and post outcome here so we can all benefit. Thanks!

Hi galenwork,

Assuming that the device has been named, it should always be showing only the name that you gave it. Are you comfortable with sharing a screenshot of what you're seeing? It might be an app issue that I would need to report to our devs.

@davey_d​  below is where none of the aliases show up. Other times, one or more might have the camera names.

Thanks for the screenshot! I'm digging in with our app team. Would you mind letting us know your device model, OS version, and SimpliSafe app version? That can help us a lot with trying to replicate the issue.

FWIW, the timeline in the web-based Control Panel doesn’t have the aliases in the timeline either, although it has all the cameras in the devices/cameras listings.

From what we're seeing, it looks like an app issue. Our dev team is looking into it and hopefully we'll get a solution soon.
