Alarm Off
Hey. So I was just sitting here minding my own business and my alarm says, "Alarm Off". I mean that's a good thing to know, but I did not actually press the off button and I was nowhere near the control panel when it did this. This is the first time that it's happened. Is this normal? What is the reason for it?

I haven't put it on test in at least a week.
It was strange and it made the base station feel haunted. ;)

Edit: I don't see a screw on the bottom of the base.
Edit again: Found it. I didn't realize that the backup was four cheap AA rechargeable batteries. I might have to put better ones in it. I rebooted it. We'll see what happens from here.

To this day I cant recall being in the keypad before it - but it was when I was messing around with it a lot as a new toy.

1. Keypad not lighting up when disarming
2. Separate incident - a different keypad showing caution icon but pressing it showed NO message
3. Delayed SMS messages for arming/disarming
4. Inability to refresh Devices on online control panel, getting errors, then a blank page, then somehow correcting itself
5. Missing automatic test signals received in Timeline of events (which happens on a regular basis, I posted about it in a thread not long ago, apparently, others have missing as well)
6. I'm just waiting for the next weird event.

Even though this is an old thread, I am currently experiencing the same situation. 7/16/22
This morning I have had the base station announce that the alarm has been shut off, without any input whatsoever - again. It sends a text message and email to me that it was turned of using the remote (?). It's a mystery to me. This has repeatedly happened in the past also.
To make it more interesting, the base station has also announced spontaneously "Welcome to Simplisafe" a few times also. Usually after it has announced that the system is disarmed.
Also, on occasion, the keypad will give the message that it is out of range from the base station. I find this hard to believe as it is approximately 20 feet away from the base station and within line of sight. Moving it closer has no effect and I have rebooted to get it to work. My Gen 1 system never had such a problem and it was nearly 60 ft between the keypad and Base station.
I hesitate to do a reboot the system again as it is a real PIA to have to re-add the sensors and I have to get out a ladder to reset the various sensors I have installed. I have had to do complete re-installs of all sensors. Rebooting has not seemed to stop this from happening.
I am using a Comcast/Xfinity modem and router, so I am not sure if that is a factor.
Do I have a lemon?
