Cutting the power cable for outside cameras - 2 red and 2 black

Hi there, Has anyone cut/spliced their power cable for the external cameras? I need to cut one to feed through a tight gap and may also need to cut the other to extend it. Why they thought USB-A plugs for an external application is beyond me, but we are where we are. Does anyone know the layout/c
