Try adding the device to your router's list of Devices as one having a reserved ip address. I hope this helps.

The only thing that I can think of that I may have done differently would be that I removed all wifi networks from the simplisafe keypad before making the connection to the 2.4 channel.

I had the same problems with the wifi connection until i logged into the admin settings for my xfinity arris router and changed the name of the 2.4 connection. Now wheny system is searching for a wireless connection, the only one it finds is the 2.4
