My Base Unit is not within earshot of some of my sensors. This means I cannot hear the base unit when I test a sensor (and am alone). Does anyone have an idea or trick so that I can test and verify operation by myself?

How does one remove a SS Smoke Detector? Have to remove for battery replacement. I tried to twist it counter clockwise but it didn't want to twist. I didn't want to force it lest it was the wrong way to remove it.
Gave it a sharp ccw twist and it did come off. I must get rid of that fear of breaking plastic.

I have a SS smoke alarm that I intended to install in a hallway (still might do that ) but I never finished the mounting of it. It has NOT been powered up at all. Now I get a smoke alarm error from the base when I arm or disarm it. How can I tell the system not to do that? If I "remove" it, w

I read many posts where people are expressing dissatisfaction about SimpliSafe not having certain features/functions, then continuing on about "my previous security system had it..." Question is, if your previous security system had all that, why did you dump it for SimpliSafe?
"@whoaru99: In my case its not dissatisfaction at all. Im actually happy with my system. But yeah I have 7 different entry sensors, I'd like to know which one it is that is opened and not just a chime. I mean the base station has a "voice" capability

Thank you. Late here now so will try that soon (busy tomorrow). I didn't want to break anything by forcing.

How do I shut off this beep every time I go in and out door? It must wear out the batteries and it drives me nuts. If I unplug will I have to set the whole thing up again?
Be sure you are trying to shut off the right sensor. and/or For no valid reason, but it has worked at times --- turn that sensor back on and make it function once. Then turn it off and see if you got the result you wanted. (Don't laugh at this. I'

Power went out with the recent hurricane (Sally). Approx. 12 hours later I thought to check the system. Dead as a doornail. Can someone from SS explain why and how to ensure this doesn't happen again? Terribly disappointed at finding this out
You're right, it doesn't say "at least" It says UP TO --- which covers everything from 0 to 24 hrs. So an hour or two would comply with the claim for backup time.
