You are not able to fit your own SIM card into the Base Station. The SIM that comes with the base is an IoT SIM, that is connected to our backend & monitoring centre. Using any other SIM will not work or provide you with a back-up. If you let us know your concern, or idea to want to insert you own, we could answer the question for you better.
Yes, on any plan, you will always get push notifications of alarm events (if you have enabled them). With the professional monitoring plans, you will also get notifications of general system health etc. You can review the plan options here.
Thanks for explaining. I was trying to reduce the cost of a monitoring service—currently £27—by using a SIM card (under £5) to provide a mobile signal backup instead. A smart way to think about cost-efficiency in this climate.

Thanks for clarifying, but yes in this case, the alarm notifications on any plan should cover what you are trying to achieve. You will also always get camera motion detected notifications for cameras (depending on your settings)
