System Firmware 2.3 (August 2021)
Hi folks,
We've got another one rolling out to all users soon. You'll notice from the smaller bump in version number, it's a smaller update this time, mostly for further refinements to WiFi connectivity. Of course, we still recommend installing to keep your system in good shape!
If you've never updated before, you can refer to our Help Center article here to get started.
Here's what's coming in Update 2.3:
- Added support for Wireless Outdoor Security Camera!
- You can now connect to an unencrypted WiFi connection, if you wish (might help for troubleshooting!)
- WiFi security enhancements
- When current firmware version needs to be updated to support new hardware, you'll get a warning only during Pairing Mode
- Various connectivity performance improvements

You mentioned having an issue in this thread with your Base Stations not reconnecting to WiFi automatically.
When Update 2.3 is available on your systems, it's possible that it will resolve your issue as well.

I called up support because SimpliSafe's website says to have a code for everyone. But when I called that I could only have 4 PIN's, 5 if you count the Master PIN. That is not enough for each child, house cleaner, and relatives. I would like 4 is really not enough PINs.
Please look at expanding the PIN count to at least 10.
Thank you

PIN 2 is shared by our two adult children (both names on one line)
PIN 3 is shared by two neighbors
PIN4 is for contractors that is changed when the job is done.
Yes, more would be nice but not the end of the world.

It's been ~2 weeks since the original post and I've checked daily but no joy so far. Is there a secret konami code to force the upgrade? :) Or can you tell us what your process is for rolling this out and how long before it's available to everyone?

Amazingly, I think I could copy and paste this post from 2012. C'mon SS, time to get that beaten horse out to pasture. :-)

Did you also update to the latest Smart Lock firmware? That one, you'll need to initiate through the SimpliSafe app, and keep your phone nearby as the update is transmitted via bluetooth.

SimpliSafe really needs to fix this kind of lousy updating.

Right now I suspect that somehow the Smart Lock is somehow sending extremely delayed signals to the Base Station, which might be caused by severe interference.
Just so we can rule it out, I would suggest moving the Base Station temporarily closer to the Smart Lock, if it's not super close already. You might also want to reboot the Base Station by unplugging and removing one battery, then putting it back together. That should force a fresh connection.

Alarm status = OFF
We had not touched either of our keypads since yesterday.
Opened front door to take the dog out and alarm triggered INSTANTLY.
Immediately went to keypad to enter PIN to silence.
Spoke to SimpliSafe alarm desk person when they called. She told me they were a 3rd party and I had to call customer service with any questions. (So apparently, SimpliSafe isn't staffing with employees now.)
Signed onto Simplisafe.com dashboard. Status report says the "PANIC ALARM SENT FROM KITCHEN KEYPAD" is what caused the alarm.
WHAT AM I SUPPOSED TO DO WITH THAT INFORMATION?
Again: Alarm system was completely OFF. Front door entry is set to delay, not instant. No one had touched either keypad but the signal from the front door entry sensor clearly triggered the instant alarm.
How do I get another software update or re-install? How can we regain confidence that the system won't have another panic attack completely by itself??

I spent about an hour on the phone today with a tech support representative to try to get the software to update. There is no gear symbol on either keypad.
After powering everything down and back up and them saying they could see the base station accepting the update ..... The base station is still at 1.6.4.
One keypad is at 1.1.4 and the other at 1.0.2 ..... They say they are sending a new keypad to replace the one at 1.0.2.
I didn't really know how the update process was supposed to work or what the latest update was when I talked to them. That is why I'm on the forum now to try to figure the all out.
Is it possible to tech support to force the update to a base station? Why haven't I even gotten the 2.1 update.

Other than getting a new base station periodically, I'm not sure what to do. There really is a limit to the help that tech support can provide (which is send a new base station.)
Good luck!
