Voice prompts / announcements are cut off / incomplete

My base station does not always announce the complete voice prompts when arming home and when announcing the various sensor names in test mode.  For example, I'll press "Home" on the keypad, and the base station will say something like "Sim..." or "Simplisafe" or even just "Sss" instead of the full announcement which is "Simplisafe On, Home."  When in test mode, it'll say something like "Master..." instead of "Master Bedroom, Motion Sensor."  The completeness of the announcements vary.  Strange thing is when I arm using the app, so far the announcements have been complete.  I have the latest firmware updated one week ago.

Anyone else having the same issue?

This issue has been resolved as of Base Station firmware 2.14. If you are experiencing this issue, please update your Base Station to the latest version.

I had this issue and it showed up a few weeks ago. A search brought me here. The power reset procedure of the base station fixed it for now. Thanks.

Having the same issue for 2-3 weeks. Reset fixed the issue.

We are having the same issue - has been going on for at least a month now. Hoping for a base station update to fix this soon!

Hi @Jill1776,

Have you tried resetting the Base Station to resolve this issue? It has helped some users experiencing this same issue. To do so, follow these steps:

  1. Remove the power plug from the Base Station, which will reveal the security screw.
  2. Unscrew the security screw using a Philips head screwdriver.
  3. Twist the entire bottom panel counter-clockwise, and pull away to open the battery compartment.
  4. Take out one battery. This will fully power down the Base Station.
  5. Wait 3 minutes with the Base Station fully powered down.
  6. Reinsert the battery and reassemble the Base Station.

Once the reset is complete, try arming and disarming your system through the Keypad to see if your voice prompts have been restored.

Having this issue for a few weeks.  Haven't yet tried reset.

Issue with voice cutoffs happens with keypad control.
Does not happen with phone (iPhone) control.

EDIT:  Still have not reset.  Tried again with keypad, and issue seems to have disappeared.

EDIT 2:  This seems intermittent.  Sometimes voice cuts off, sometimes it doesn't.

Reset my base station to address approximately 3 months ago. The problem has come back. I'll reset it again, but I'm really hoping SimpliSafe support can address this!

A few days ago, my base station starting saying incomplete phrases.  She says “SimpliSafe o” instead of “SimpliSafe on Home” when I set it for home.  At times she says just “Sim” instead of the entire phrase. I’m concerned this means my system isn’t functioning correctly.

Ok - I did the reset & it seems to have worked! Yes! Thanks

Oh - and mine ALWAYS happens when arming from the keypad - I only use it to arm for home.

@lizp8613 thanks for reporting. Have you already tried the procedure that we have here?

Same issue here, just started this week. Tried reset, no joy. Systesm is only 4 months old.

Issue has also returned to me.  Reset procedure worked in January.  Is this something I'll need to do 4 times a year?

Hi @MinneapolisJeff,

Our engineers are continuing to look into this issue and are working on a solution outside of the Base Station reset. In the meantime, I would recommend resetting your Base Station again to retrieve full voice prompts.
