Video Doorbell Pro Portrait Mode

As the Title states, this would be great.  Current Landscape mode give me a lot of either side of my house, but not my porch.  You know, where all the packages are left!!  Yes, I've tried putting a wedge to point the camera down, but only gives so much.  No, I don't want to add another camera.  As a point of reference, the google doorbell we replaced (which came with the house, worked well, but wanted us to subscribe to get more than 3 hours of events), had a great view because the orientation was portrait (and they seemed to have a bit more of a fish eye lense).  

Very happy with Simplisafe as a whole, but can do better on this one.

Hi @MarkHanson ,

Thanks for your suggestion. Sounds like what you're asking for is a vertically oriented camera view, so it's able to capture a lot more of what's below while still keeping an eye on approaching intruders.

Unfortunately, installing the current Video Doorbell Pro sideways isn't a great idea because the built-in motion sensor is already set up pointed downwards. That means if you turn the camera 90º, the detection field would be sideways at an awkward (and probably not-as-useful) angle. So if we were to implement this idea, we'd need to develop a whole new camera.

(I'm stuggling to make my own community post but since this is related I figured I would reply to you here if that's alright.)

You guys should look at what Wyze is doing with cameras (and their price points) because they've got some great products that you need to be competing with. They lack in the 24/7 montoring and have a recent class action lawsuit regarding people seeing into other's homes so I don't trust that side of their security systems, however the cameras have yours beat by a mile. Especially the Pan Cam and their most recent Wyze Cam V4. I also like that the video puts green boxes on the things that trigger it to record. Please add these kinds of features and products to your lineup. (And maybe make the cameras a lot more affordable.)
