Base alarm keeps saying smoke detected

Had the smoke alarm go off a few days ago (there’s a a reason I shouldn’t cook!). I silenced it, opened windows and all was good. Until a few hours later, the base station alarm went off. I was able to switch it off on the keypad which said smoke was detected. I found this odd because the actual smoke alarm did NOT go off. Shrugged it off and went to bed. This happened again at some point in the middle of the night. And then again the next day… and night. Any idea what the heck is going on and how to fix? Again, the smoke alarm itself is not going off, it’s just the base station but highly frustrating at 3am when there’s no smoke whatsoever.
