Louder Chimes?

I set up a portion of my system today and two things stood out:

- chimes are only when a door or window opens, no chime when it closes? Is that correct?

- even on the loudest volume the chime is not very loud. Can you make it louder or change the chime tone itself?

Hi @TheRealLeoH ,

Some great questions here.

You are correct, Door Chimes trigger only when a door or window is opened, not when it's closed.

It does sound like (pun not intended) you found the setting for the Door Chime volume. Unfortunately there is no way to change the tone at this time.

If you're interested, we also have the Wireless Siren component. On top of the main sirens for alarms, the Wireless Siren can relay the countdown chirps, as well as the Door Chime - all at much louder volumes. And of course, because it's a separate component, it can be placed anywhere in your home, or even outside.

Can door chimes play to google or Alexa connected devices?

The door chime really isn't loud enough for even a small house. Should be an easy fix, right?

@Peppa_Corn the Entry Chime comes through the Base Station. If you already have that volume set to maximum, then unfortunately that's as high as it can go.

The separate Wireless Siren component is even louder, and you can place it in different parts of your house - even outside!

The wireless siren doesn't serve the same  purpose as the basestation notification system correct. Is there any work being done to introduce a chime like system that Ring incorporated for notifications. If I'm not mistaken you can only operate on one basestation correct??

@breuklyn The Wireless Siren is able to relay the Entry Chime, as well as the chirping countdown sound, and of course the main siren when there's an actual alarm.

The Wireless Siren unfortunately isn't able to relay voice prompts, nor the chime from when the Video Doorbell pressed. The only way right now to get the doorbell notification is through the Base Station, the SimpliSafe app on your phone, and of course the actual wired doorbell system.

And yes, it is one Base Station per system. You can think of the Base Station as the system itself, and all the other components just connect to it. So if you had another Base Station, it would be a whole separate system.
