Outdoor protection and night vision

So I installed my outdoor camera series 2 today. Was looking forward to using Outdoor Protection. Went to check my camera in the dark, and have almost no visibility. There’s a city streetlight out front of my house, along with 3 house lights that provide a lot of lighting to my front yard. The light from other sources, (which I can’t change), interferes with the infrared used in night vision, rendering the camera useless. On the contrary, when night vision is turned off, I have crystal clear picture, and can see details great, even in the dark.

With the outdoor protection turned in, it defaults and locks the setting to night vision on. According to the digital chat bot, there is no way to change this. If the camera can’t see anything, outdoor protection will be useless!! I’m not paying a premium on a plan to have a camera that has no visibility. They really need to change this and allow users to make changes that are best for their situation. It literally doesn’t matter where I put that camera or how I position it, with night vision on, I can’t see anything. Very disappointed. See the attached pictures. First is view with night vision on, second is with it off, taken at the same time.

Guess I’m downgrading my protection plan, because Pro is useless if I can’t use outdoor protection.

@maas1ms Before downgrading, I would call support and ask for a supervisor. Please post your outcome here.

@maas1ms yes, when enrolled in Active Guard Outdoor Protection, some camera settings are locked—this is because those settings are needed for agent intervention during an alarm event.

But as seen in the screenshot included, your Outdoor Camera does not have a clear picture at night with Night Vision locked at On. We've gone ahead and forwarded your case details to our escalated Support team. A senior specialist will be in touch soon to get to the bottom of this.
