Motion Sensor Field of Detection for Outdoor Camera

ETA: Just spoke with Tech Support. Was told the field of detection is the same as the field of view, 140 degrees.

With that in mind, it's back to the 12-foot ladder and start repositioning cameras!

Hmmm, that side o' the house is North facing. Gets no sun, at all. It's currently 22 outside. Repositioning might wait....

S'pose the title sez it all.

I understand that range for the motion sensor, outdoor camera, is 30 feet.

I'm assuming that is 30 feet straight out from the sensor.

What I'd like to know is what is the field of detection to the sides, off-center? Terminology is prolly not right but y'all get the idea.

From testing the camera the only thing I do know is that the field of detection is waaay narrower than the field of vision.

I have seen our pick up from the side about 20 feet or so but it seems to be better when farther away then closer to the camera, mine will pick up people over 30 feet away walking down the street coming from the side and I wish I knew how I could post a video on here to show you but I don't know how

Thanks for that. To be clear, I was looking for an idea about what the area covered by the motion detection sensor might be.

Is that what you mean with your reply? Thanks!

Hi @bhudg,

The Outdoor Camera has a 140 degree field of view.
