Update has removed timestamps from the timeline

Hi

Just downloaded the latest app 2200.0.9 # 19717 and it seems that the timestamps have been removed when activities such arming and disarming are shown.

Personally l found these timestamps useful. Is it a glitch / bug or an intended removal?

Thank you

Craig.

@craig7327 Just updated the Android phone app yesterday, shows different version # but, bottom line, the date and times are still on each event in the timeline.

I would call support and ask.

@craig7327 This was certainly not an intended removal! If you could please let me know your device's model and operating system, I can send this to our app team. But in the meantime, if you slightly reduce the font size on your device, are the timestamps in your timeline visible again?

Hi @emily_s

Thank you for getting in touch.
Reducing font size didn’t return the timestamps.

The timestamps only show on an automatic test signal or if you play a captured video clip in the timeline, but it has to be opened and played.

I’m using an iPhone 12 Pro Max iOS 17.4.1

Model Number MGD73B/A

Thank you

Craig

@hayessm16 and @cshugh11,

Thank you for reporting this! Our engineering team is actively working on getting this resolved. I've gone ahead and added your cases to their ongoing ticket.

Hi @emily_s

l’ve just updated to 2200.10.0 and the timestamps in the timeline have returned.

Good news all around. Thank you.

I don't have the SS subscription but I'm having the same problem for the last couple of days with my doorbell and outside cameras. As normal I can see both cameras but the timeline does not show the actual time stamp or location...

Hopefully the tech team is on this problem.

Interestingly, the app on my PC is still showing the timeline as expected, but the app on my iPhone 13 only show this:

@ajvideosrv What version of the SimpliSafe mobile app are you running? Craig7372 said that once they updated their SimpliSafe app, timestamps were visible in the timeline again. If you have a pending update available in the App Store, I would recommend downloading it to see if that resolves this issue.

It may also help to temporarily reduce your phone's text size down to the middle notch in the Display and Brightness setting to make the timestamps visible again until a fix is rolled out.

Interesting. I've used the SS app on my phone for a few years and never had that issue. So I just now changed the font size and that fixed it (temporarily?) I'm not sure how to update the app on my phone, however.

@ajvideosrv I take it you are using an iPhone / iPad an iOS device like myself as they seem to be the devices that were affected.

To update the SimpliSafe app look for the App Store icon. It’s blue with a white A on it.

Select that and then at the top right there will be a small round image. This is your profile / account for Apple.

Touch that small image and then scroll down and you will see any apps waiting to update.

They will update automatically, but you can also do it manually. Look to see if there is one from SimpliSafe look for their logo. Then to the right of the logo you should see the word update. Touch that and wait a minute or so and then it’s updated.

Hi Craig. I found the update as you described and SS is set for automatic update. It shows  version 2200.9.1, not 2200.10.0, and it says "open" not "update". So I guess it will do so when it's good and ready! In the meantime the smaller font fix is working.

Thanks!
