Scheduling and Time Zones

Does the new scheduling app work off of local time where the system is installed or the time zone on my iPhone?  Am traveling to Italy which is six hours ahead of EST. If I set alarm to arm at 11 PM before I leave will it arm then or 11PM Italy time based on the local time on my iPhone?

Hi @davemanly, 

Your arming schedule will stick to the local time where your system is installed, not the time on your phone. While you are away, your schedule should not be impacted at all. If you set your system to arm at 11 pm before you leave, it will arm at 11 pm local time. I hope you enjoy Italy!

Will it always relate to the house time zone?

For example, if setting a schedule whilst traveling in a different time zone. Is the time you scheduled in the UI your home time or the time where your phone is?

Yes, the arming schedule will always stick to the time zone where your system is installed, not the time zone where your phone is.

I just scheduled one and my system arms in the previous time zone.  How do I change that?

@dwaynes​ To change your system's time zone, take the following steps:

  1. Log into your account at webapp.simplisafe.com
  2. On the navigation bar on the left side of the screen, click Monitoring
  3. Scroll down to the bottom of the screen, there you will see the Time Zone field
  4. Select your time zone, and then press Save on the bottom of the page
