Issues linking with Google Home

I am trying to pair my Gen 3 Simplisafe with Google Home. Whenever I do I get the message that "Sorry, no compatible Simplisafe systems are on your account". We do not pay for any monitoring plans.

Has anyone else had a similar issue?

Hi @mclovin092 ,

You might have answered the question yourself, there. Integration with Google Home is a feature of Interactive Monitoring. For more info, check out the Help Center article here.

Google Home integration is partial even with the subscription plan; only assistant supports it, there are no controls or cameras in the Google Home app.

@davey_d I live outside US so the monitoring plan is not value adding at all. Why do you restrict the integration with Google home for non-premium users when the only available feature is arming, it can't even disarm or monitor the camera feeds?

I'm having the same issue and can't seem to find answers online.

Just set up my system today and am having the same issue. The integration with Google was the main reason I purchased this system. Why is SimpliSsfe not responding to this?!?

Hi @Jennyseveneight @mstonya78 ,

In case the site is not displaying our last reply correctly. Do either of you happen to be subscribed to the $27.99 Interactive Monitoring Plan?

Smart Home Integration, with both Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa, is a feature of that Monitoring Plan only.

The SimpliSafe integration section states my Google assistant is connected but in google home it shows SimpliSafe is off line.  It connects via my SimpliSafe app and the SimpliSafe website so what can I do?  I don’t want to remove in case I can’t get to connected again.

@njhohn I know that removing SimpliSafe from Google Home and adding it back has helped for users in the past, but if you do not want to try that I would recommend checking the Google Home app to see if it needs to be updated or not. I would also try resetting the Base Station, you can do this by taking the following steps:

  1. Unplug the power cord from the Base Station, and use a Phillips Head screwdriver to remove the screw below the plug
  2. Remove the bottom cover and remove one battery from the Base Station
  3. Wait 30 seconds
  4. Reassemble the Base Station by inserting the battery, cover, and the power cord
  5. When powered up after the reset, the Base Station will say "Welcome to SimpliSafe"

Hello,

One of my outdoor camera is from Wyze and they do support integration with Google even for a self monitoring plan.

Simplisafe should do the same. It's an era of IOT and you cannot limit to only premium plan.

@bharath thanks for chiming in!

To clarify, the integration we have with Google Assistant allows you to arm the system by voice command. Our current policy is to be wary of sharing users' private data, especially video, with third parties. So right now, the integration with Google does not include video support at any Monitoring tier.

@davey_d Do you have any solution to my issue, else refund the money you took for monitoring services in last one year?

@davey_d You know, It's crappy that none of this information pops up until after you purchase the system. That is deceptive marketing.

Now I am seeing what everyone on YouTube seems to be warning about. With Google getting rid of their nest security and moving their focus to ADT you guys really should step up your game to get some of those customers.

Will you do it though... That remains to be seen
