Hello @office_2a35e6 ,

I'm really sorry to hear that you're having this trouble. The typical behavior for the app is that you should be able to stay logged in for 30 days - after which, for security reasons, you are asked to log in again.

But that 30 days is very different from having to log in again every other time, which suggests that there's something going on with the security token on your device.

The first thing is that it would be helpful to know what device you're using, as well as the version of your operating system, and the version of the SimpliSafe app.

Though based on other similar cases, I will also ask: do you happen to have cookies disabled on your browser? Or do you have an adblocker or other similar plugin installed? Something like that might be preventing your login info from saving properly.

@toastie I'm not sure if I've worked with you on this issue yet, but we do need a bit more info to investigate. You mention that your operating system and SimpliSafe app are both up-to-date; would you be able to give me the exact version numbers for both?

To find the iOS version, navigate to: Settings > General > About Software Version

To find the SimpliSafe app version, navigate to: Settings > General > iPhone Storage > SimpliSafe (it's the number under the title)

And like I asked office_2a35e6, do you know if you have an AdBlock app, or maybe have disabled cookies on your browser?

Something must be broken on SS side, I can't even log in to my account through my browser, but can log in to the Community.  Fortunately, my app on my phone still seems to be logged in, so I have some use of the system while I'm away from home.

@wareagleman that is interesting, because the webapp, mobile app, and Community all actually use the same login system.

Do you have the same issue with different browsers, or even different computers?

At the time of this post, I was trying to log in through my work computer... Chrome is the only browser we have (well, there's Edge, but I don't use it).  My phone was/is on cellular service (not my work network)... and goes through a VPN... interesting that there was no problem with the phone, but there was obviously a problem with my work laptop.

Seems fine today though.

Are you using a VPN? Because I use a VPN and cannot log into simplisafe. If you are, drop or pause the VPN.

This seems recent, and they are obviously blocking VPNs.

@office_2a35e6 thanks for checking in again. Sorry to hear that you're still having the same issue months later. It wouldn't be unusual for you to have to log in again when posting on this Community forum, since it's a separate site. But you should only need to log into each site (and the app) once every 30 days.

I'll ask the same questions from my previous reply:

  • What device are you using, and what version of the operating system?
  • Do you have cookies enabled on your web browser?
  • Do you have an adblocker enabled?
  • Also, do you have Multi-Factor Authentication enabled for your account? Learn more about that here.

Can you have a VPN onnyour WiFi while using the system?

@CH25 Having a VPN on your WiFi should still allow you to use the system. If you do run into trouble logging into your account with your VPN on, it is our recommendation to disable it as a troubleshooting step.

Definitely a big hassle for me as well.

My mother has a system and my options are to get EVERY notification, just alarm/error notifications, or nothing. She’s 72 and I like to check and make sure she’s up in the morning without calling her every single day. I thought the solution would be to log into her system on Chrome on my iPhone. Worked for a while, but now it asks for authorization every time and I have to explain to her that no, no one was trying to hack her account, it was me, and that’s why she got a verification email.

There’s got to be some kind of middle ground here! I hate that I can’t just switch back and forth in the app. Would absolutely migrate her account to mine, but that would then double my monthly bill. I want to support her, not run her entire account. Ugh…

@LeeNah Is Multi-Factor Authentication enabled on your mother's account? Multi-Factor Authentication will allow you to register your phone number to her account, so when you log into it, an authorization code will be sent to your phone. You can learn more in this Help Center article.
