How far can the sensor be from the base?

@dacock20, Simplisafe claims 300 feet+ under ideal conditions. Your mileage may vary, as the saying goes, with real life conditions with thickness of walls, material etc. Note, the sensors do not connect through WIFI, while the base and cameras do. If you do a Google site search, you will get additional information in the forums, or call SS for direction.

I tested an entry sensor with my outside mailbox. Metal, no connectivity. Plastic at about 75 feet, worked like a charm.

@dacock20 , btw, temperature does not seem to effect the motion sensor at all. Have one in my unheated garage and is subect to 90 degree temp in summer and single digit in winter. Welcome to Chicagoland!

Single digits...no need to sugar coat anything. I'm in Chicago too and I'm still thawing out from those -25 temps we recently had, only to to have those near tornado winds tear my roof apart the past couple of days. Welcome to Chicago indeed!

I have a detached garage.  Its about 60ft behind my house, wood construction and my house is split level brick on the bottom and siding on the top.  My base station is upstairs in my bedroom in the back of the house and it sits about 75ft from the detached garage.  I have a entry sensor, glass break sensor and a smoke detector in the garage and all connect with the system with no issues.
