Original SimpliSafe® Base Station Installation Guide
Updated
| Does your Keypad look like the one pictured to the left? Then you're in the right place! You've got the Original SimpliSafe® system. If you purchased a new system in 2018 or later, you likely have the Gen 3 SimpliSafe®. You can learn more about the differences between the two systems on our Help Center. |
Please note that we no longer sell Base Stations for the Original SimpliSafe® system. If you are having an issue with your Original SimpliSafe® Base Station, our Support team can tell you more about our upgrade offers.
The first step to installing your Original SimpliSafe security system is to set up your Base Station. We recommend installing it in a central location to ensure that you can hear its built-in 85-decibel siren from anywhere in your home. We also advise users to install the Base Station 3-5 feet off of the floor, and 5 feet away from all major electronics.
To install your Base Station you will want to start by removing the Base Station from the box. Next, plug the Base Station into a power outlet using the included power adapter. The Base Station will display a blue light, and provide a voice prompt stating that your Base Station is in test mode. Once your Base Station is finished speaking you can continue with installing the rest of your devices.
