Silence Smoke Alarm

If one of my Simplisafe Smoke Detectors senses smoke and begins to alarm (detector beeps, turns on base station siren) what are my options for silencing the alarm?  The instructions for the smoke detector state that I can press the button on the smoke detector to silence the alarm however some of my detectors are 8-10 feet high.  Can I silence (turn off) all alarms from the Keypad or Simplisafe App?  Thanks

Hi pdnj,

Yes unfortunately the only option is to press the button on the detector itself, or wait for the smoke to no longer be present.

@davey_d​ hi Davey, I just had a similar issue. It seems that pressing the button on the alarm doesn't silence it anymore. When I've had the smoke alarms go off due to smoke from cooking, pressing the button on the alarm does nothing. I will press it, it will beep, silence for a few seconds, and then start up again.

@zachoffman2​ If there is still smoke present, or debris from the smoke is still in the Smoke Detector's sensing chamber, it will begin to sound again until all of the smoke is gone.
