Video Doorbell Pro not responding to motion triggers

We have been made aware of an issue starting late last week, where some Video Doorbell Pro units were not responding to motion alerts, nor initiating recordings. The units remained connected, and were still available for live streaming, and also responded and initiated recordings on doorbell button press.

 

Our engineering team has identified the issue in our backend system, and it has now been RESOLVED. Video Doorbell Pro motion detection and recordings should now be restored. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience. If you continue to experience issues, please don’t hesitate to contact our Support team for further assistance.

My doorbell camera has been installed and working fine for almost three years. Yesterday it stopped capturing motion or the doorbell ringing. The light on it is solid blue. 

Today I removed the screw and took off the doorbell part. When I took it off, it immediately notified me of motion and when I pressed the bell. So it works fine when removed from the plate. I did a soft reset on it anway, even though when I had the camera sitting on my desk it was working just fine, like it did until yesterday. 

When I put the doorbell part back on the wired plate, it stopped working again. Blue light is on. I can watch live. But no motion detection, no doorbell notification.

I looked at the contacts on the back and they look fine to me, the wired plate looks fine too. 

Does this sound like an electrical issue or an issue with the contacts? Or something else?

I am having the same exact issue. It seems to be fine, it is online, I can manually turn on live view and even chat through it, but zero recordings and notifications since two days ago.

Same issue here. Was working fine as of 4/29, but not today. Not sure when problem first started, as we were out of town until last night. Good connection and live view. Blue light comes on when motion detected, but no recording or alert. Will send alert when doorbell is rung. Also have 4 SS outdoor cams, all working properly.

I have a few people on my simplisafe group on Facebook who are saying that same thing g so there must be a problem that needs to be looked at.

Strange exact same issue. I can chat and have excellent connectivity with the doorbell camera. I have ios and mine says push notifications aren’t on but they are. Is there a fix for this?

I will add issue also has been seen consistently on the simplisafe reddit group.

Today 5/15/2024, my video doorbell is still not working properly. I originally posted about this on 5/6/2024 under the heading "Camera recordings have all but stopped". SimpliSafe's Davey D. has responded to me over there. I am now posting here ... my issue is NOT resolved, despite SimpliSafe is saying it's resolved. I'm getting about 10% of the recordings I had gotten on a daily basis for 4+ years since I've had the video doorbell. I no longer get any recordings at night. Another example ... when I mow the lawn, I would typically get something on the order of 20 recordings capturing that, and now I get ZERO RECORDINGS. Look into and fix the/my issue, or I will sell my system and go somewhere else with $29.99 per month and my business.
