I downgraded my monitoring plan because I'm sick of waiting. Zigbee and Home Assistant can automate everything SimpliSafe can do, except calling the police for you. But you can automate notifying trusted family/friends to do that for you.
As long as SimpliSafe is running non-native code base we’ll NEVER see it. TIme to look elsewhere. I can’t trust my hone security to a “small dev team” that takes shortcuts. Incredibly frustrated as i watch a hurricane roll in to my winter home in Florida and realize i can’t count on SimpliSafe.
@cornrowminks0q Agreed! This + giving the smart lock the ability to be locked via voice assistant should be high priority! It’s way past time for Simplisafe to follow through on this.
HomeKit integration is a request that our dev team is aware of. You adding your voice in this public forum will further let them know how much our customers want it!
For those savvy enough to run a Homebridge server (or HOOBS), there is a plugin that integrates Simplisafe to Apple Home. It's fully-featured, but its reliability, however, is limited at best with frequent timeouts and failed responses due to an API that is too slow for connectivity assumptions made by Apple Home's architecture.
The bottom line here is that if Apple Home support is critical for you, you're better off looking elsewhere.
I invested hundreds of dollars into hardware from SimpliSafe in 2018 and have spent over $1000 in monitoring fees based on the promise of imminently forthcoming HomeKit support. It has yet to materialize. Fees have increased, but still no delivery on the promise. Now there is the "Matter" standard for which SS also has no integration, and apparently no plans. Meanwhile, Alexa and Google integrations are arguably the least secure and associated with companies that have repeatedly violated customers' trust, privacy and security. Those companies won't be getting any of my data, and the fact that they are the only ones SS partners with concerns me. It is long past time for comprehensive integration with the largest and most robust ecosystem in existence today. When will it finally happen?
@natefleischer thank you for your feedback. At this time, HomeKit integration is not in development.
For Alexa and Google Assistant integration, the only data that we share is the armed state of your security system (and that is of course only if you enable integration at all). We do not share any other info, like account location, sensor data, payment info, etc. We are very protective of that kind of info, which is what limits the kinds of integration possible with the current setup.
And finally, there is a separate open request for Matter integration here. SimpliSafe is part of the Connectivity Standards Association (CSA), which oversees the development of the Matter standard. While we currently have no announcements regarding future plans for integration into our own products, we are watching development closely. We will keep you updated when we have more info.
Hello all! I am aware that Simplisafe does not currently support HomeKit, and it has been mentioned on these forums that the feature was is longer in development after originally being on the roadmap. I just want to voice my strong support for continuing to develop this feature, and give other community members a chance to do so if they feel the same.
I am an avid smart home geek and Simplisafe fan, but Simplisafe doesn't currently have the best integration with other services (or at least it lacks support for HomeKit). It would be wonderful to use my existing Simplisafe sensors and cameras within the Apple Home app to create automations or use voice commands to control Simplisafe. It is also nice to manage everything home related within one app, instead of having to switch back and forth to see all sensor/camera information.
While there are a number of ways to integrate Simplisafe unofficially (Home Assistant, Homebridge), none of these options are stable or ideal for most users.
I believe that especially right now, many Apple users are looking for something to replace Eufy cameras. Simplicams are a great option for privacy with their visible shutter!
Are there any plans to bring official HomeKit support to users?

We’ve waited long enough for this. If there was no intention of ever supporting it why even mention it?? Instead of delivering they keep jacking up the prices. So over this.

@davey_d, why the heck not?! Apologies are cheap, SimpliSafe systems/monitoring are not. A lot of folks bought their systems on the promise of future HomeKit support. Now, 3 years later, we’re being told that it’s not currently in development?! At the very least we deserve an actual explanation.
I’d really like to have HomeKit support, as I’m using Simplisafe now.
Even if you don’t, please DON’T break homebridge compatibility causally, as many of us are using it!!! Like you just did today!!!
I’m seriously considering going for Abode after a year and half using SimpliSafe, especially you’ve hike the price significantly since last year in the UK!
If "use Alexa or Google Assistant" were satisfactory answers, this wouldn't keep coming up over and over. People want to use their iPhone and Siri and HomeKit for a variety of reasons including better security and privacy. What we don't want to be told is "you'll take what we want to give you and like it."
It's inexcusable for a product at the stage of maturity Simplisafe is not to have this.
And no, Homebridge is not an excuse not to do it right.
I have only had my Simplisafe system for a few days, I like it, mobile app is good, but it’d definitely make the cost of monitoring a little better if I could access the camera feeds via my AppleTV to know if it’s someone I want to talk to instead of digging around for my iPhone. None of my home is “smart” but it would be nice to have that capability eventually
I've read online, years ago, that Simplisafe was going to add Apple Homekit support. The fact that it still has not is making me question using this system. The fact that I cannot tie other Smarthome devices to arming my system (for example lowering the temperature of my thermostat in away mode, or closing my blinds) is becoming painfully outdated. I would happily buy a new base station if the support was there. Philips hue did this.
If Simplisafe isn't going to support Homekit seriously I'd like to know so I can switch to another system. I've been happy otherwise but this is a deal breaker.

@ssuser2024 it's true that once upon a time, our dev teams explored HomeKit integration. Unfortunately, we have since determined that integration is not feasible for the current system. We'll let you know if that changes, but for now the feature is NOT IN DEVELOPMENT.

Guess I’ll just add my voice here. Absense of HomeKit support is prohibiting me from buying SS smart locks.

Are there any updates on if SimpliSafe is moving forward with Homekit compatibility? Plans were promised a while back.

Simplisafe promised Apple HomeKit integration years ago. it’s why I, and many others, ended up purchasing your system. Where is it?
I’m done. I WANT MY MONEY BACK to invest in another company who will actually provide the services they say.
Has anyone filed a BBB complaint? Class action?
This needs to be resolved.
