Deleting multiple videos at one time

I have 4 indoor cams, they record quite a bit each day which is fine as that is how I set it up.  I don’t like all the videos collecting and end up individually deleting them on each camera every day.  Is there a “delete all” capability to save time?  It’s quite tedious.

thanks

Hi @djwesterhof61 ,

No, we currently don't have a mass-delete function for videos. But I moved your thread to the Suggestions section.

I should mention though - are you worried that you'd run out of space? If you're subscribed to recordings, you do have unlimited uploads, and each video is removed automatically after 30 days.

And don't forget, all your videos are fully encrypted in transit and in storage, so nobody will have access except you.

@davey_d Are they end-to-end encrypted? Is it not possible for Simplisafe to access these? Do they keep our keys? If so, how does the video verification work?

Videos are encrypted in transit and at rest, and no, our employees are not able to access them at all.

With Video Verification, which is of course an opt-in feature, each individual recording of an alarm event is decrypted and delivered to the Monitoring operator who's handling your event. They'll be able to see that one recording only.

@davey_d Thanks, Davey! No worries, I heard the employees can't access them, but I wasn't sure if it was technically possible. I also wasn't sure if it was actually "end-to-end encrypted" (I saw some things previously mention "end-to-end encoding", which someone could presume would be the same thing, but that is not always the case; I always saw the common nowadays terminology of "end-to-end encrypted" avoided it seems). Most data is secured in transit and at rest nowadays, but that doesn't mean it goes the extra length to be actually "end-to-end encrypted" and also no keys kept by the provider (you could go further to say "zero knowledge" as a secondary term).

@davey_d Sometimes just because certain employees don't have access to the videos, doesn't mean someone can't, or that it technically isn't possible.

Dave D -  I’m not worried about space, just don’t like a bunch of useless videos sitting there.  If something real does happen I don’t want to wade through a months videos to make sure I know what is going on.   It’s just my nature to keep on top of things, and looking for a time saver.
