monitoring
If I cancel my monitoring service, will my cameras, alarms, devices, etc. still connect and and alert me on my phone?
Would I still be able to get software updates if I pay for them without a monthly fee?
Thank you,

@bfreeze341 Please edit your post and remove your full name and phone number for privacy and security reasons. Also suggest you call support tomorrow morning when they are open.
To answer your question, here is a link to the monitoring plans to find some of the answers you are asking.
Short answer: You will need at least the most basic plan for some of it.
https://support.simplisafe.com/articles/alarm-events-monitoring/what-are-the-service-plan-options/6344794a013ba90af0bce6a4
Also you should discuss options to update your system from SS2 to SS3.

Hi @bfreeze341,
First, I just want to say that we have removed your personal information from your post. The Community is a public forum, and we want to protect our users' privacy.
If you downgrade your monitoring plan to our free, Basic App Control plan, your sensors will still trigger an alarm if they are tripped, and a push notification will be sent to your smartphone. But 24/7 emergency dispatch from our monitoring center is not included, so you would need to contact to your local emergency services.
Your cameras will also stay connected to your system. You will still receive a push notification when they detect motion, and you will be able to view a live stream through them, but they will not film/save any recordings to your account.
A monitoring subscription is also not required to receive firmware updates. If you downgrade your monitoring plan, you will still continue to receive updates to your system and cameras.
For more details about what every plan offers, check out the What Are the Service Plan Options article in our Help Center.
