What are the procedures and how quickly does the system respond to the siren when it is set off?

Our siren was accidentally set off for about 15 seconds before we turned the system off.  The base station was then red, and we couldn't find anything in the manual about resetting it.  We were not sure whether we would get a call, or that the emergency responders would be at our door!  When we calledSimpliSafe, the person answering did not not anything about the system, and switched us toTech Support.  That line was busy for 2 hours, and in the meantime, my husband went ahead and reset it, and hoped for the best!  It was OK then, but now we worry about whether SimpliSafe will actually call if there is an emergency.  Shouldn't they have called?

they assume that if the alert is canceled by PIN or Keyfob within 30 seconds, it is a false alarm.

Do you have a monitoring plan?

Typically, COPS Monitoring gives you a 30-second window to disarm your system from an alarm event, if you indeed cancel the alarm within 30 seconds or less, they will then treat that as a false alarm and may not call right away (because true emergencies take precedence).   If it took OVER 30 seconds for you to cancel the alarm (via PIN on the keypad or using the keyfob), and if COPS Monitoring did not call, you might want to call SS to look into it, to make sure your system is operating properly, is getting a good signal, etc).  You can also check your Timeline of Events to see what occurred, and what time it occurred.

The base station will turn red after an alarm event.  To clear the red light, disarm your system (as you did), then try arming it to Home, to see if the base station reverts to normal status in Home mode, then disarm it again.   If anything happens other than normal status, call SS for assistance.
