Way to remove the base station from my account?

Is there a way to remove the base station from my account?  I am going to sell my SimpliSafe system, and want to make sure the person who buys it does not have any problems activating it; and does not need me to help activate it.

I already called SimpliSafe and the phone representative was not helpful.  They told me there is no way to do that, which does not make sense to me.  They said it wouldn't be until someone tries to activate it under a new account would it then come off of my account because the device has to have an address associated to it.  Still doesn't make sense to me, because if I walk into a Best Buy or a Target and buy one; they don't have my address until I activate it.  I have already cancelled the service, so this whole issue just doesn't make sense to me and shouldn't be this hard.  I guess they don't care since I've already cancelled service and went to Ring.

Any help?

@atmcgee, form my understanding, suspends/inactivates accounts but does not delete them.  This is done for historical reasons, and, no doubt, legal and liability reasons.  When we worked with our sales force and they wanted records deleted, we had the delete button hide the record from non-admin view but it was still in the database.  That I am sure SS could do if they wanted.

As long as your Base Station does not have an active monitoring service attached to it, it can be paired with another monitoring service.

So all you need to do is make sure that your service is canceled on your own account. Then the person inheriting your system just needs to sign up for their own separate account, and they should have no problem activating with the same Base Station.
